Pets, Pets, and More Pets!

March 21, 2019

Hi there! It's been a bit.

Tons of awesome things are going on behind the scenes, but for this blog post I'll just focus on Pet Simulator 2 - specifically the pets!

One of the biggest and most apparent changes with the pets, is the pets themselves!

I wanted to keep the style the same while drastically increasing the quality and ramping up the adorable-ness.

I think we did a great job with it, and it really contrasts against other games with a similar pet form-factor.

This style is consistent with the rest of the pets - and looks adorable! Not only are they super cute, but also heavily optimized.

This guarantees the performance on console and even mobile will be stellar!

Here are some of my personal favorites thus far:

The pet animations were also re-made from the ground up!

In the original, pets would circle around you which caused clipping issues which looked really sloppy. Now they will form a line instead!

This is still in the works, but here's a sneak peak:

Bouncy!

Pets will also make unique noises and sounds when idle, adding more depth and personality to each pet individually!

I think it's a great touch and makes each pet feel like it's own.

Can you guess which pet sound this belongs to?
